Privacy Policy

LÅKE Websites is a web design business run by John Bickel in San Diego, California. This policy explains what information I collect through lakewebsites.org, what I do with it, and the choices you have. I keep it simple: I collect only what I need to talk with you about a website, and I never sell your information.

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you fill out the contact form, I collect what you choose to enter:

• Your name, business name, phone number, and email address
• Details about your business, such as the services you offer, the areas you serve, your hours, your slogan, your company colors, license or insurance information, and links to your existing pages
• Any logo or file you upload
• How you heard about me, and anything else you type in the form

If you call, text, or email me, I also keep a record of that conversation and your contact information.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, basic technical information is collected, such as the pages you view, the website that referred you, your general location (city or region level), your browser and device type, and the time of your visit. This is used to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful.

How I use your information

• To contact you about your request and answer your questions
• To build, launch, and maintain your website if you become a client
• To set up and manage your Google Business Profile and Apple Maps listing if you become a client
• To send invoices and process payments if you become a client
• To understand how visitors use this site and improve it
• To protect the site against spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who I share it with

I share information only with people and services that help me run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Sales representatives who work with me and may call you about your request
• Netlify, which hosts this website and receives contact form submissions
• Cloudflare, which provides website security and visitor analytics
• My email and phone providers, which deliver messages between us
• Stripe, which processes payments for clients (I never see or store your full card number)

I may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, or to protect my rights or the safety of others.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without using cookies and without tracking you across other websites. The site does not run advertising or ad-tracking tools.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because this site does not track visitors across other websites or over time for advertising, it does not change its behavior in response to that signal.

Your choices

You can ask me at any time to:

• See the personal information I have about you
• Correct information that is wrong
• Delete your information
• Stop calling, texting, or emailing you

Email john@lakewebsites.org or call (619) 324-9453, and I'll take care of it within 30 days. If you're a client, I may need to keep some records (such as invoices) for tax and legal purposes.

How long I keep it

I keep your information for as long as it's useful for my business, such as following up with you or providing services if you're a client. If you'd like me to delete it, just ask and I will, except for records I'm required to keep for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.

How I protect it

I use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or online service is completely secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security, but I take care to limit who can access your information.

Children

This site is for business owners. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
